Maddy Prior & The Carnival Band
The gig in Carlisle Cathedral has been moved to Penrith Methodists Chapel(25 th May) My raffle on this tour will be for Awkwasyie Medical Project in Ethiopia. We were in at the beginning of the project but couldn't seem to get it underway, but a team of accountants took a trek there and realised the necessity of some medical help and have used their experise and energy to negotiate the red tape, and seem to have got things going. Maddy's next trek is scheduled to be Cuba in October, all things being well with the ankle.
The raffle will be drawn at Spanfest, our very own Festival to be held in Kentwell Hall in Suffolk.
Those so far confirmed to appear are Bellowhead, Feast of Fiddles, Whapweasel, The Oysterband, Maddy Prior and Friends (with their piece Arthur the King) and of course Steeleye Span.

Excalibur II
Alan Simon had a great success with Excalibur in France a few years ago and has revisited the theme with Excalibur II. Maddy is singing the part of the Lady of the Lake on the track Secret Garden
There are live dates confirmed in France for June 2007
Alan Simon writes 'It will be in large concert halls (Zinith hall = around 5000 people). All the artists from the album will be on stage including a symphony orchestra and a pipes band. Fairport Convention will be the permanent folk-rock band with a classy light show including movie pictures about the legend.'

The Carnival Band
Details of Maddy's tour with The Carnival Band are now available click here
Maddy and the Carnival Band are busy putting a CD together of Charles Wesley's hymns, ready for the tour in May. Andy has spent several days in the British Library looking up tunes of the time and has found some lovely ones. As always there is the vitality of the original intention, with some subtle and gentle pieces too. It goes under the present working title of 'Now that's what I call Wesley', but that will have to change. MP 04 07
