"What a fantastic place! The courses have such an easy structure where everyone can take whatever you need for your personal development. I've had real moments of revelation from the techniques offered"
Ecopoetry weekend with David Morley
 |
Boundlessly energetic David Morley arrived with much Paraphernalia of binoculars, intriguing sonic explorers, radio controlled Dragon fly, field guides and CD's of bird and animal calls, these were good companions to amplify our observations as we walked around the immediate environment. Straight away he set us tasks of writing focused poetry and the journey had begun and continued unabated during the weekend.
Through much productive work it was felt that we had all challenged ourselves and made fruitful advances in our work.
We have another Poetry Weekend at the end of May this time with Don Patterson ( which has been sold out), and we look forward to more courses in the future. |
Working Weekend.
The weekend 7-9th March ’08 was a first for Stones Barn, it was a working weekend. Yes I know all the weekends we have there are working weekends but this one, like a retreat without meditation but with chocolate and alcohol, involved doing work around the barn.
Jobs which would be daunting for one person, became fun when shared with others. A lot was achieved; ceilings and doors painted, fires and bonfires lit, carpets cleaned, a barn cleared and sheds sorted, trees pruned, Duplo washed and a skirt made. All that and an opportunity for some singing too!
